Chapter 14 of 19

14. Annex B: Example Decision Scope (Informative)

Example: Weekly Executive Dashboard - Active Customer Count.

  • Decision scope: North America subscription-customer Active Customer Count for weekly internal executive dashboard use.
  • Decision use: Internal executive review of customer growth, retention exposure, and operating priorities.
  • Grain: One customer account as of reporting week end.
  • In scope: Internal weekly trend discussion and operating review.
  • Out of scope: External reporting, compensation, regulatory reporting, customer commitments.
  • Example Gate question: Can Active Customer Count be used in the weekly executive dashboard for the stated internal-use scope?
  • Example readiness state: Caution for an explicitly authorized internal trend review. The two unresolved source status codes remain Quarantined and are excluded from the count. The exception record names the competent authority, identifies the exclusions and resulting completeness limitation, restricts use to the stated internal review, and sets a review date. If that bounded use cannot be authorized, or the excluded evidence is needed for the proposed decision, use is not permitted.

This example illustrates authorized constrained use, not full DACS conformance. Failed applicable controls remain Fail. It does not authorize external reporting, compensation, regulatory reporting, customer commitments, or other excluded uses.
